… a lil’ romance now and then.

 

It was a little perturbing to me, to read on Twitter how little faith women had in men when it comes to wooing, or rather, when it comes to being romantic.

Perhaps it’s simply luck that I have oft been privileged to have experienced the

blushing, the butterflies, and the embarrassment (if I may say so) of a romantic ‘nothing’, ‘something’, ‘everything’.

So after hearing the ladies complain – “Men don’t know what it is to be romantic” – and the men saying “Women don’t appreciate the small things that we do.” I felt it was my ‘duty’ to write about it… the answer to a post featured on my dear friend and fellow blogger Mamachel‘s site. I’ve decided to share it with you, my readers, so you can give your two cents on the subject and perhaps share your personal experiences with your loved ones. What do you do to show someone that you care? And what IS romance anyway?

…kisses on your forehead

My ‘brother’ Gavin probably described me best when he said that I’m like a ‘jelly coconut’. I’m actually a little embarrassed to admit that he’s right!

I’m such a sap 😦

One of my most absolute favourite intimate gestures is when a guy you really like (or with whom you’re in an intimate relationship with) kisses your forehead. I can’t even begin to tell you how it sends my tummy ‘a-flutter’ and puts the biggest grin on my face. Of course, being the ‘coconut’ that I am, I pretend it’s no big deal…but yea, I’m  a softie for those kisses.

What does a kiss on the forehead tell you? I have no clue. But, it always catches me by surprise. We’re accustomed to kisses on the cheek, on the lips, the neck and maybe even the shoulder, but there’s something to be said about the intimacy behind the forehead kiss. It’s respectful, protective, shy, a symbol of adoration. It feels even better when the giver does it subconsciously.

Yea…I’m a sucker…a hopeless romantic…but, SHHHHHHHH don’t tell anybody!
